A six-week evening course that will take you through the basics of hand bookbinding. 
 
You will have the opportunity to learn multi section binding, make exposed spine books, Japp binding and hard backed covered spine books. 
Whether you want to make your own journals, sketch books or bind your own writing, you will receive guidance on putting your book together. 
At the end of the course you will have an understanding of the techniques of bookbinding, will have made at least 3 books in different styles, have an understanding of the structure of books and the confidence to hand bind books on your own. 
 
Materials and handouts will be provided. However, it will be useful to bring with you a pencil, cutting mat, metal ruler (with millimetres marked), a pencil and a sharp knife or blade (such as a stanley knife).
